I- PROGRAM DETAILS

1. Why volunteering with us

Volunteering with EHC offers you the opportunity to:

  • Foster cross-cultural communication by engaging with volunteers from diverse backgrounds.
  • Generate enduring social impact through teaching activities and active involvement in social projects.
  • Effect direct transformations in the lives of vulnerable and underprivileged ethnic minority groups.
  • Engage in the cultural immersion of ethnic minority groups by participating in their festivals, events, and customs.
  • Indulge in locally sourced produce, as well as savor local specialties and delicacies.
  • Forge a deeper connection with nature and experience its healing benefits.

2. What you offer

Tasks:

Volunteers are asked to join us in daily activities such as teaching English for working adults (who wish to speak English fluently as a tour guide) and children aged between 6-14 years old. All classes are for ethnic minority individuals coming from underprivileged households only.

Also, volunteers are required to participate in social projects such as distributing clothes or food packages, planting trees or the like, with an aim to create a social impact on lives of ethnic minority groups based in Ha Giang.

Furthermore, volunteers can contribute to our community by their unique strengths and areas of specialization, including (but not limited to) making communication products (such as photography or web design), organizing mediation/yoga/breathing workshops, etc.

Duration of stay: at least 2 weeks

Shifts: 16 hours per week

  • 4 hours/day
  • 4 days a week (MONDAY to THURSDAY)

Participant fees: $8 USD/day/person

  • $5 USD/day for meals
  • $3 USD/day for police protection*

*Police protection fees will be forwarded to the designated Police officer stationed in Vi Xuyen, Ha Giang. The purpose is to ensure the protection of rights for foreign individuals and visitors during emergency situations.

3. What you get

Volunteers coming to our organization will get:

4. What’s not included

  • Vietnam visa costs
  • International Medical Insurance
  • Travel costs (airfare tickets, travel from and to Ha Giang, weekend trips, etc)

II- APPLY FOR OUR PROGRAM

1. Requirements

  • Aged between 18-60 
  • Fluent in English: Candidates must possess good proficiency in spoken and written English to effectively communicate with the local community and facilitate language learning activities (at least B1 level)
  • Can be solo or couple travelers.

 2. How to apply

III-TRANSPORTATION INFORMATION

The sleeper bus trip from Hanoi to Hagiang typically lasts between 6 and 7 hours, with a frequency of every 30 minutes each day, departing from My Dinh bus station (20 Pham Hung Street, Tu Liem district, Hanoi). The final departure from My Dinh bus station is scheduled for 9 PM.
